HYDERABAD: Strange it may seem but opposition partys in the Old City of Hyderabad are seeking the support of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the next elections to break the monopoly of the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM).
A delegation of Muslim leaders recently met the State leaders of the BJP in support of the candidature of Urdu daily ‘Siasat’ editor Zahid Ali Khan, who has decided to contest the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat as an independent candidate.
Muslim leaders, who are close to Khan, requested the BJP not to field its candidate from the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency to avoid division of Hindu votes. The BJP leaders, however, did not open up their mind immediately.
“We hope that the BJP will not field its candidate,” a TDP minority leader from the Old City said.
He analysed that there were 30 per cent Hindus in the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency. Of the 70 per cent Muslims, around 25 to 30 per cent would support the candidature of Khan, who enjoys the support of the TDP, the TRS, the Left, the MBT and the PRP. If the BJP did not field its candidate, the winning chances of Khan would be better, with the support of the consolidated Hindu votes and the 25 per cent Muslim votes, he added.
The BJP was also trying to defeat the MIM, he recalled.
Saying that the BJP had cleared the names of the Lok Sabha candidates from places like Chevella and Secunderabad and had not taken any decision so far on the candidate for the Hyderabad seat, Khan’s supporters are hopeful of a positive response from the BJP.z

We Muslims always blame the Arab nations for disunity among the Ummah, when we ourselves are not united within Hyderabad or its neighborhoods.
Our enemies are afraid of our strength, a close fist. Their plan has always been to open our fist by dividing Muslims and cut our fingers and make us weak and useless.
Elections are a test for Muslims, no matter how much we are divided, but when it comes to elect a leader, we should pass this test by standing by with our One leader and One party.
What is that One Leader and One Party? It is MIM, because MIM is the most prominent and biggest party representing Muslims of Hyderabad. We have to standby it, no matter what. We don’t need another party. If you think another party would be better than MIM, then you are extremely mistaken.
Only Prophet Sallallahu alaihi wasallam was the Perfect human being and we are not. So keeping that in mind we should ignore things we may not like in MIM and for the sake of Muslim Unity and love for each other we should ignore their mistakes and vote for MIM. We should ask Allah’s help and reach MIM leaders and present our concerns.
AS A HYDERABADI MUSLIM WE SHOULD VOTE AND CAMPAIGN FOR MIM
Couple of important points I would like to mention that would clear our minds and helps us in our strategy.
1) It is our prerogative to vote. We must vote, if you are living in US, UK, Gulf or any part of the world, call your parents, relatives and friends in Hyderabad to go out and cast their vote to MIM candidates. Inshallah Allah will reward for your intention to strengthen Muslims.
2) In Hindu dominated areas, talk to Hindu friends, take them to dinner or Chai, and convince them to vote for MIM. Islam never tells us to hate or hurt non-muslims, whether Hindus, Christians, Jews or anyone. So be nice to them in your neighborhood or in the world across. If they are against us, our strength will automatically make them weak and tremble. But never start a fight, in fact treat them nice and help them when needed, it’s a sunnah of Prophet Sallallahu alaihi wasallam.
3) The party candidates will be spending money on campaigning but if you could spend a few rupees or make few phone calls or write emails, Allah will not let your good things past by, you will get your reward, for you are not working for MIM, you are working for our strength.
4) Concentrate on MIM’s weak constituencies, for example Malakpet, it is very difficult to win in Malakpet, but when a Muslim decides to win and put all his efforts, Allah’s blessing and help will reach him. Go at it with full throttle, request people to come out and help. Even if you are living in Secunderabad, you could come to Malakpet or Nampally to help these candidates in campaigning. Remember your intention is to please Allah and strengthen ourselves.
5) Make dua, the most powerful tool for every job to be successful.
6) The last point I would like to mention and it is very important and only a hyderabadi could say and understand: Choti Choti baaton par aastin mat chadao, apna nuksaan hai, kisi aur ka nahi.
