MiM Demands Uninterrupted Power Supply in Twin Cities and Rural Areas

Hyderabad February 14: The Majilis e Ittehadul Muslimeen Charminar MLA Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri demanded the government for uninterrupted power supply both in rural areas and twin cities keeping in view the commencement of exams for students.

Raising the issue of unscheduled power cuts in cities and rural areas in Zero hour, MIM MLA Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri said that students are facing severe problems due to the power cuts by APTransco and wanted the government to check the power cuts during the exam period. Along with that APTransco officials are going against the assurance of Minister for Finance and health K Raosaiah on erecting of meters on poles. He said that going against the rules officials are continuing erecting electric meters on poles which should be stopped immediately.

He said that the power cuts is also creating problem for supply of drinking water and stated due to power break down supply of water is also being affected. Referring the MIM Floor Leader Akbaruddin Owaisis memorandum and demand for waiver of arrears, he asked the government to waive the arrears from electricity bills as done by the government in rural areas. He said that government should waive off the arrears to the people living in cities. MLA Ahmed Pasha Quadri alleged that vigilance department officials are booking false cases of power theft and imposing heavy chillums. He said that these officials are booking false cases and obtaining signatures from household women’s who are alone in the houses and creating problems to them. He said that several cases were booked against the MIM corporators and MIM activists by vigilance officials of false power theft. He also requested the government to maintain power supply during the examination period without causing trouble to the students appearing for exams.
