Bullets Removed; MiM Floor Leader Akbaruddin Owaisi Stable

MiM Floor Leader Akbaruddin Owaisi was first stabbed and then shot at by unidentified criminals while he was visiting his constituency at Chandrayangutta on Saturday.

"Doctors have removed the bullets. They said Owaisi is in a stable condition," said State Home Minister P. Sabita Indra Reddy on Sunday.

Another legislator Ahmed Balala, who was accompanying him, was also injured in the attack.

However, Owaisi's security officers also opened fire at the attackers, killing one and critically injuring two.

The MLA was rushed to a Santosh Nagar hospital, where doctors said his condition is critical. He was operated and the bullets were removed from his body.
